The death of her husband made her hate her life

PSS program changed her life for the better

Only hours after speaking on the phone with her husband about him returning home the next day from his military service, Nadia (not her real name) was made aware of his death from a rocket attack.

She fell into a state of depression which resulted in her isolating herself, neglecting her children, not eating and giving in to negative thoughts, preferring death, and attempting suicide.

She was invited to the PSS program and attended at first simply for a change of atmosphere. Initially, she would cry continuously and refuse helpful suggestions. Over the weeks, however, she became more receptive and applied the topics of the sessions. Her mood improved, and she took more care of herself, engaged more with her neighbors, and was noticed by those around her to be vastly different. Others also noticed she was more attentive to her house and children, including their education.

While not expecting any positive change to occur when she first attended the sessions, she soon changed her mind. After attending the program, she said;
– The course made me able to be more positive in my attitude.
And she chose to go on living and taking care of her kids, despite her difficult situation.
