“I believe I can coexist with all segments of society…”

One of ITDC’s participants, Ibrahim, took what he learned and applied it

Ibrahaim said, “After the peace building training, I was internally convicted by how I have viewed the marginalized (muhamasheen people). Normally I felt uncomfortable around them and was even ashamed to sit next to them, but after the training I know the errors of my view and I will correct them.”

“After the training I was returning home by bus, when the bus drove right past a man from the marginalized group. He was waiting for the bus, but the bus driver did not stop for him. I asked the driver to stop for him, but he replied that the muhamasheen don’t pay their fares and so I told the driver that I will pay for him.”

“The driver stopped and the muhamasheen man got into bus and I asked him to sit down next to me. Now I believe in myself that I will coexist with all segments of society whoever they are.”
