Mona was married at an early age. Due to poverty and her husband’s inability to support her and their three children with food and medication, her husband decided to send them back to her family. After being expelled by her husband, Mona and her children, therefore, moved back to her family home – further compounding the existing need at that house.

Luckily, Mona’s family household received support, which enabled the family to meet their needs and afford to send Mona’s children to school. She now felt encouraged to promise to educate her children to the end of high school. She also made the most of her support by thinking about future resilience by saving all she could to purchase goats to provide milk for the family. Mona said,

“Thank you, your help relieved us of the suffering of hunger and fear. We hope you will continue to support other needing families and us, including training to help us secure our future.”
